Working in partnership with Macmillan, we are able to provide therapy sessions in the Macmillan Information Centre at Mayday Hospital in Croydon for people who are affected by cancer.

A diagnosis of cancer often generates a whole range of financial and other problems for patients, their families and carers.

Croydon Citizens Advice Bureau Service in conjunction with Macmillan Cancer Support have set up a new advice service to assist individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and who live in Croydon or are being treated at Mayday Hospital. This service is also available to their families and carers.

The full range of Citizens Advice Bureau Services is offered including advice on benefits, employment, housing and debt. Appointments are available at the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at Mayday Hospital on Mondays and Tuesdays and in bureaux.

Although funded by Breast Cancer Care, the HeadStrong service offers practical information and support to anyone experiencing hair loss through treatment for any type of cancer. The service empowers women and men to learn a new skill and provides a choice of different headwear products.

By working in partnership with Macmillan we have been able to hold 2 six week courses designed to help people living with cancer. Both courses have been well attended and feedback to date has been positive. We hope to continue this partnership into the next year, ensuring as / many people as possible are able to benefit from these expert seminars.
