Confidentiality Policy

Inevitably within a Centre such as SECHC topics of discussion may, directly or indirectly, involve details of members' personal and family situations, their state of health and treatment, their feelings and other personal matters.

It is the policy of the Centre that such information should remain confidential with those with whom it is shared and that it is not for discussion. with others, either within or outside the Centre.

Any concerns about the content of discussions or breaches of confidentiality should be brought to the attention of the Centre Manager or the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Personal details about Staff, Trustees and Volunteers are regarded as confidential and are held in files in a locked cabinet.

All therapists and group leaders adhere to rules of confidentiality laid down by BAC or the ruling bodies of their organisations.
