Eileen's story
When I was 25 years old I was diagnosed with Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in September 1997. I saw a leaflet in the
outpatients department at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton
and I have been a member of the South East Cancer Help Centre since
January 1998. The Centre has played a significant role in my recovery
and I am so glad that I found out about the Centre's existence.
I have enjoyed the art classes immensely and practising Tai Chi
has helped me through some very difficult times. The people at
the Centre are friendly and kind. Cancer is an awful disease that
knows no boundaries. What my illness has taught me is to never
lose hope or give up.
