Acknowledgements

We would like to thank Tesco for providing the premises.

We also wish to thank the late Richard Williams of www.amsys.co.uk and Erik Carlson of www.mailbox.co.uk for invaluable help in setting up the electronic mail and web page facilities and also donating the domain name and all email and web facilities to the Centre.

The South East Cancer Help Centre has only three paid members of staff, all other persons are volunteers. The annual membership fee is £15.00 which entitles members to the use of all facilities free of charge.

Donations are always welcome and gratefully received and acknowledged in our Annual Report.

Eileen's story

When I was 25 years old I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in September 1997. I saw a leaflet in the outpatients department at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton and I have been a member of the South East Cancer Help Centre since January 1998. The Centre has played a significant role in my recovery and I am so glad that I found out about the Centre's existence. I have enjoyed the art classes immensely and practising Tai Chi has helped me through some very difficult times. The people at the Centre are friendly and kind. Cancer is an awful disease that knows no boundaries. What my illness has taught me is to never lose hope or give up.
